There are different locations to snorkel in Varberg. They extend over sandy bottoms, eelgrass beds, and seaweed-covered rocks. In most outdoor bath spots there are white buoys located in shallow water while the red ones are placed in deeper water. The depth can vary depending on the low and high tide, but the maximum depth is about three meters and minimum depth is approximately one meter. Första vik Getterön is one of the most frequented places for snorkelling, but if you're accompanied by children, Tredje vik Getterön is a more suitable option with its shallower and safer waters.
