Victoria & Alfred Waterfront — also known as A&F Waterfront - is a hotspot for tourists as well as locals. The tomb of Mughal emperor Jahangir is a majestic work of architecture, commissioned by his son Shah Jahan in memory of his late father. The complex is known especially for its intricate detail which includes ornate frescoes, carved marble, and mosaics of semi-precious stone known as "pietra dura" style.

Explore hiking trails and exercise tracks, unwind in the sauna, or set out on the tranquil waters with rowing boats. Nearby, you’ll also find Långasjönäs campsite, where you can rent cottages or camp with a caravan, camper van or tent. There is also a swimming area with an accessible jetty and barbecue areas. In the 18th and 19th centuries, there were paper mills, distilleries, sawmills, and starch mills in the area. Most of the buildings are now only ruins that are well worth a visit. Located just 10 kilometres north of Karlshamn's city centre, Långasjönäs promises a retreat into nature's embrace.

Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island is probably the most well-known freshwater lake in Australia. Located 100 metres above the sea level, it is classified as a 'perched lake', which means that all of the crystal-clear water comes from the rain. High levels of acidity in the lake and the fact that all nutrients have been washed out of the shimmering white silica sand make the water unsuitable for nearly all forms of plant and fish life. It is likely the purest water you'll ever dip your toes in. The Aboriginal name for the lake is Boorangoora, which means 'waters of wisdom'. It was and still is known as a place for decision-making.
