The imposing Fort Saint-Louis, which towers 200 feet over a steep cliff offers some of the best views of both city and sea. The original construction dates back to 1640, but little of that remains, and what can be seen today is largely composed of later additions. Reopened in 2014, tours are now available in several languages.

Lying some 3 kilometers off the southern coast of Martinique, Diamond Rock is an imposing 175-meter-high rocky island, once claimed by the British as a ship (the HMS Diamond Rock), before being reclaimed by the French. Today, it is known as one of the island's best dive spots.

With a length of 30 miles, Lake Bacalar, also known as 'Laguna Bacalar,' is the largest lake of the Yucatán peninsula. Also called 'The Lake of Seven Colors', it is a spectacular landmark for its clear azure water, fed by groundwater emerging from 'cenotes,' or natural sinkholes. The landmark is within a 60-mile distance from Mahahual. There are restaurants near the shore, and sports activities such as kayaking and windsurfing are available, too.

Tivoli park was once the grounds of a castle barely two kilometres from the historic centre of Mechelen. These days you can enjoy a quiet stroll here across the large expanses of grass, past ancient trees, a highly-scented rose garden, a herb garden and other delightful nooks. Now pure white again, in 1990 the famous Belgian artist Jan Fabre wrapped the castle in sheets of paper covered with ballpoint lines for which 150,000 blue pens were required! Since 1991 the mansion has housed a catering establishment specializing in parties, seminars and the like. Drinks, snacks and lunches are served to the general public in the adjoining orangery. Small children will love meeting a whole variety of farm animals on the children's farm. Other attractions include the large bee colony and the educational nature trail where signs draw your attention to aspects of the park's history, fauna and flora.
