Through actively preserving the culture of the area, Cave Creek Museum is able to share the historical and archaeological aspects of the region with visitors. Explore the first church of Cave Creek, the Golden Reef Stamp Mill, the National Register of Historic Buildings tubercular cabin, and the garden.

Some might say that this is just a rock, but there is a reason why the Virgin on the Rock has a star in the Michelin Guide travel section. It was Napoleon III's idea to place The Virgin Mary statue in this beautiful location, which is surrounded by many other great lookout points.

Right next to the Capitol, the Botanic Garden is a quiet spot with both indoor conservatories and outdoor plots. Inside, you can walk through rainforest and desert environments under glass; outside, there are seasonal displays and a rose garden. It’s not huge, so an hour or so is usually enough, but it’s a nice break from the busier sights on the Mall. Entry is free, and there are programs and exhibits for all ages.
