Along the coast, the archipelago turns into sandy beaches by the time you reach the western corner of the county. Instead of an archipelago, it has beaches—many long ones with beautiful fine sand. In Sölvesborg, there is a beach for every day of the week and even more. Some of them are full of life and offer kiosks, restaurants, and playgrounds, while others are quiet and hidden.

XVIII century construction from the Baroque period, ascribed to José Sierra The church is situated in the old part of the town, just beside the Nobel house of the Orduña’s. This construction was built between 1740 and 1753 over the plot of land where the primitive temple used to be and dates from the Christian Conquest (XIII century). The church was burnt and plundered during the Civil War and was again changed in 1962, shortening its length and changing the ground floor, this led to the loss of the cupola and the transept. Between 1995 and 1996 we undertook the task of renovation and interior decoration in order to save the present day building.

If you don’t feel comfortable on a boat, you may want to rent a bike and go to the Ré Island on an excursion. The island is linked to La Rochelle with a 3-kilometres toll bridge. Enjoy the empty beaches, sensational Atlantic sunsets and delicious seafood on this beautiful island! Don´t miss the lighthouse called "Whales Lighthouse" and enjoy the breathtaking view on the top.

The Naval Museum provides a captivating journey into the intriguing realm of the Swedish Navy.
