The National Museum houses a wonderful collection of well over 830,000 objects from all epochs — from antiquity to contemporary times. Here you will find works of both Polish and world art, including such gems as Jewess with Oranges by Aleksander Gierymski and the large-format Battle of Grunwald by Jan Matejko. Visit the Gallery of Medieval Art to see the unique artefacts there or visit the biggest collection of Nubian cultural artefacts and art in Europe. Beside the well known beach of Tylösand, there are 21 beaches along the 45 kilometre long coastline. The only school of lifeguards in the Nordic countries is located at Tylösand, where 60 lifeguards are trained annually. Lifeguards patrol the beaches during the summer. Disability adapted bathing places are located in Tylösand and Östra stranden (the Eastern beach). Inland, you find bathing places among many of the lakes.

Since 1929, the Heard Museum has been dedicated to preserving and celebrating Native American cultures with historical accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Collaborating closely with Native communities, particularly those from the Southwest, the museum is renowned for its educational programs, immersive exhibits, and vibrant festivals. Visitors can explore stunning works of art, pottery, jewelry, textiles, and more, created by Native artists who offer their own, first-person perspectives on their traditions and history. The museum also hosts exciting annual events, such as the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market, which showcases Native art, music, and performances.
