Built on the remains of the old Moorish mosque, the building started out as a Parish Church, ascending in importance, as Archiprestal (1281), Collegiate (1413) and finally becoming a Cathedral in 1510. Building started at the end of the 13th Century. It is of Levantine Gothic Style, with three naves and a gallery, a transept transformed by Pere Compte at the beginning of the 16th Century and side chapels between the buttresses. Of note inside is the ironwork, the Baroque organ, the work of Jacinto Perales and the choir stalls, made by Juan Bautista Borja and Tomás Llorens (1716-1718). The sacristy is home to the relics cabinet and cupboard, the work of José Ganga (1732-1734), holding diverse relics within a carved bust. On the outside, of note in the Tower, built between the late 13th Century and the mid-14th Century, the same as the three main gateways, The Puerta de Cadenas (14th Century), Puerta de Loreto (15th Century) and finally, the Portada de la Anunciación, completed by Juan Inglés in 1558.

It is most popular during the spring but is beautiful all year round with unique fauna, nice walking tracks, and picnic spots. - Öglunda Caves and Jättadalen Carved beneath colossal fallen stone blocks, the Öglunda caves showcase captivating formations, including free-standing pillars of dolerite. These unique hollows, caves, and pillars are a distinctive feature adorning the dolerite slopes throughout Billingen. Jättadalen, a gorge sculpted by a meandering stream, is embraced by steep mountain walls. Stand atop the precipitous cliffs of Jättadalen, and you'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama of Vallebygden, stretching all the way to the majestic Kinnekulle. - Hiking in Valle In the area, there are a lot of walking tracks that take you around and in between the many small lakes. The town of Santa Teresa Gallura is situated on the northernmost tip of the island and has stunning views over the straits of Bonifacio to the island of Corsica. Rena Bianca is the town’s beach, and you can find it only a stone’s throw from the centre, with turquoise water and flour-fine sand. Just to the west, on the headland Capo Testa, there are two beaches. The left hand side is beautiful and ideal for children, and the beach on the right is also beautiful with amazing rock formations. Ferries leave daily for a 50 minute trip to cross the Straits to the town of Bonifacio, in Corsica. This is perfect for a great day out, having French lunch and doing some shopping.
