Housed in an 18th-century carriage and stable house, the Scuderie del Quirinale is now an impressive exhibition space of nearly three thousand square metres, hosting regular and varied art exhibits. The complex is located right next to the Palazzo del Quirinale, where the Italian president currently resides.

Verona’s main cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Matricolare, sits on the site of two earlier churches destroyed in the 1117 earthquake. The current building mixes Romanesque and later Gothic elements, with frescoes, sculptures, and quiet side chapels worth a look.

It’s small but interesting, with narrow tunnels, odd rock shapes, and some ancient cave paintings. People lived here as far back as the Palaeolithic, and there’s a local legend about hidden treasure — hence the name.

The Santa Fe Trail was a transportation route through central North America that connected Franklin, Missouri, with Santa Fe, New Mexico, during the 19th century. In 1821, the Santa Fe Trail became America's first international commercial highway, becoming one of the nation's great routes of adventure and western expansion for nearly six decades afterwards. Congress recognized the significance of the Trail to American history by proclaiming it a National Historic Trail in 1987. Now visitors and locals can partake in its amazing history.
