On the outskirts of Malmö lies a rural oasis that emanates a sense of peace and harmony. Katrinetorp, an early 19th-century "landeri" (country estate), was originally designed as a summer residence and a venue for grand receptions. Today, the city of Malmö runs the place, and they are constantly working on recreating its former glory. Markets, music entertainment, events, and exhibitions are held here annually. It recently opened its new exhibition hall "The Stables,” which also has a high-end gift shop. Katrinetorp lies 10 minutes from the city centre of Malmö, which makes the big city no more than a stone’s throw away from this idyllic scenery.

Dedicated to one of New Zealand’s national obsession, this museum explores 1,000 years of seafaring history. Visit the themed galleries to learn how the first Polynesians got here or learn more about NZ’s most famous maritime pioneer among other things. The New Zealand Maritime Museum is a suitable attraction for both young and old.

The Museum of Folk Art in the historical center of CDMX promotes and preserves part of the Mexican handcrafts and folk art. The old fire house building is filled to the brim with textiles, pottery, glass, piñatas, alebrijes (brightly colored sculptures of fantastical creatures), furniture and much more. Great for a quick visit, but you could also spend hours here exploring all the minute details of artisanal works.

Qasr Al Watan is Abu Dhabi’s Presidential Palace, open to the public and worth a visit for its grand interiors and insight into the UAE’s political and cultural heritage. The building blends traditional Arabian craftsmanship with monumental scale, featuring vast halls, towering domes, and a 350,000-crystal chandelier. Exhibits cover everything from the country’s governing institutions to ancient manuscripts, and an evening light show on the palace façade wraps up the visit.
