The construction of this medieval palace was initiated in 1442 to form a meeting place for merchants. The archaeological style has been influenced by several people through a range of various alterations and additions to the building.

Built in the early 14th century in Norman Gothic style, Palazzo Chiaramonte Steri, one of the symbols of Palermo, bears witness to a multifaceted history as both a tribunal and prison under the Inquisition from 1600 to 1782. Today, it serves as the headquarters of the University of Palermo, offering visitors a glimpse into history through its marvellous lecture halls adorned with intricate 14th-century wooden ceilings. The Inquisition Museum within its walls unveils the poignant narratives of prisoners through haunting graffiti and artworks, etching their stories onto the very cells that once confined them.

This amphitheatre was built during the Augustan Age (I century AD) and bears witness to the Roman influence on the city. Visits are only allowed for groups.

The Wales Millennium Centre was built as a haven for arts and performances. It houses a theatre and several halls, restaurants and shops, hosting live events like plays, operas and concerts on a regular basis. The centre is also the home of various organisations such as the Welsh National Opera, the National Dance Company and the Arts Council of Wales.
