These beautiful and serene botanical gardens offer city-dwellers a tranquil and quiet place to escape the hectic and noisy city life. The gardens cover over 40 hectares and feature a rich array of thousands of examples of local and foreign plant life, as well as a wealth of birds that have made the gardens their home.

This building is composed of a church, convent and university, all completed at different times. On the exterior, there are two striking renaissance doorways, featuring the founder's family coat of arms and the shield of the Dominican Order. The Baroque entrance to the University shows an allegorical figure representing wisdom. Human figures adorn the Baroque tower. Inside are two magnificent cloisters, the Renaissance one in the convent and the University own Baroque example. The church is a renaissance building with later Baroque additions. An interesting feature in the Renaissance doorway leading to the sacristy and refectory, dating from the late 16th Century with a fascinating base covered in Vatican tiling from the 18th Century.

A magnificent part of California's natural history since its discovery in 1885, Mercer Caverns is home to a wealthy variety of natural cave formations. Visitors are invited to take a tour of the caverns and view a variety of stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, columns, flowstone, helictites, and soda straws. Gaze upon delicate aragonite crystal formations at one of the cavern's deepest points, for which Mercer Caverns won a Grand Prize at the 1900 Paris World Exposition.

El Cielo, aptly named "Heaven" in Spanish, is a secluded sandbar approximately 2 miles off Cozumel's coast, renowned for its silky white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Accessible only by boat, this idyllic spot has become a favorite among snorkelers and marine life enthusiasts. Beneath its shallow waters, visitors can observe a vibrant array of sea stars, commonly known as starfish, gracefully adorning the sandy floor. The area is also frequented by gentle stingrays and, occasionally, sea turtles, offering a serene glimpse into Cozumel's rich underwater ecosystem.
