The Flamingo Beach is one of Costa Rica's most popular beaches with fine white sand, clear blue waters, lagoons, vegetation and lots of activities on offer. The coastline is dotted with secluded beaches, with mountains jutting out into the sea and creating quiet and secluded lagoons. The area is possibly best known for its scuba diving opportunities. There are several dive shops in town which provide service to the Catalina Islands and the Bat Islands. The waters around these islands are teeming with marine life, including the majestic giant Pacific manta.

The scenic Shaws Bay is located just ten minutes from Ballina by car. Surrounded by beaches and parks, the area lends itself to long walks and picnics, as well as water activities like swimming, snorkeling and canoeing.

The three small houses in Sevedstorp were the inspiration for Astrid Lindgren's books about the Bullerby Children. In the summertime, the village comes to life, with different animals, and fun activities. In one of the barns, you'll find Café Sörgården where waffles, Swedish cheesecake, and other goodies are served.

For a mix of relaxation and learning, the Marine Discovery Center offers wildlife and nature tours along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. Their "River of History" tours add a fascinating historical perspective to the journey, while eco-tours provide up-close views of local marine life like dolphins, manatees, and birds.
