Pinetop–Lakeside

The Pinetop–Lakeside Historical Museum preserves artifacts of historical significance to the White Mountains area. From the Centennial Display to the VFW Display, visitors are able to experience some of Arizona’s rich past. Items of interest include the American flag that was flown during the Nuremburg Trials in Germany.

Home to the Mogollon Tribe, the Casa Malpais Ruins are also a national historic landmark. Acting as a shadowbox for the Mogollon, Sinagua, Anasazi, and Hohokam tribes, the Ruins possess a history spanning 50,000 years (when the 16-acre pueblo was constructed over lava flows). Casa Malpais served as home to the various tribes between 1100 and 1400 A.D. Guided tours are available for your exploration.

Lyman Lake State Park, encompassing a reservoir on the Little Colorado River, is a haven for water enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Fort Apache Historic Park, encompassing 288 acres, offers a unique opportunity to explore the history and culture of the Apache Nation. The park features museums, historic buildings, recreational trails, ancestral villages, and remnants of the US Calvary, providing a comprehensive look at the region's rich and complex past.

Porter Mountain Stables, voted the area's top stable, offers a relaxing horseback riding experience through picturesque creeks, meadows, and forests with gorgeous lake views.

Woodland Lake Park is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a variety of activities for all ages. The Show Low Historical Society Museum, located just minutes from Pinetop–Lakeside, offers a fascinating glimpse into the area's past. Explore two buildings with 16 rooms showcasing exhibits and artifacts that tell the story of Show Low and its surrounding communities.

Sunrise Park offers a variety of activities for winter and summer visitors. During the winter months, hit the slopes and enjoy skiing or snowboarding on 65 trails across three mountains.
