Mishawaka

The South Bend Museum of Art features five galleries with works spanning different cultures, time periods, and styles. Along with its permanent collection, the museum hosts rotating exhibits and events throughout the year.

The Oliver Mansion is a beautifully preserved 38-room estate once home to J.D. Oliver, a key figure in South Bend’s industrial history. It’s part of The History Museum, which explores the stories of the St. Joseph Valley. Step inside this 1897 home, and you’ll find the original furnishings still in place, giving you a real sense of what life was like for one of the city’s most prominent families.

Shiojiri Garden is a peaceful spot that highlights Mishawaka’s connection to its sister city, Shiojiri, Japan. Designed by Shoji Kanaoka—the same landscape architect behind parts of Epcot at Disney World—it’s a great place for a quiet walk. You’ll find traditional Japanese elements like bridges, lanterns, and a tea house, making it a unique stop along the Riverwalk.

Strikes & Spares is the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time—in the best way. Whether you're dodging in bumper cars, racing go-karts, knocking down pins, or playing a round of black-light mini golf, there’s something for everyone. The arcade is packed with games for a little friendly competition, and if you’re into pool, there are billiard tables, too.

The Studebaker National Museum dives into the history of the iconic Studebaker Corporation, showcasing more than 120 vehicles, from early carriages to classic American automobiles. Don’t miss the presidential car collection, including the car that carried Abraham Lincoln.
