Cafe Frischut has been run by the Frishut family for over 50 years so one would assume they know what they are doing.

This relaxed cafe decorated with light wooden furnishings and dark metal ornaments serves homemade organic baked goods of all kinds as well as an all day breakfast for the late risers. There is a really broad selection of vegan options at Cotidiano, including a beetroot hummus that goes great with a light lunch. Later in the day after the urge for coffee has subsided, a spritz is oftentimes a nice way to enjoy the evening here.

Weekends at the Gartensalon could be adequately summed up by freshly baked pastries, cakes and sandwiches surrounded by sweet smelling flowers on a cosy backyard patio. There are plenty of vegan options here and most, if not all of the ingredients are sustainably sourced. Just be sure to bring some cash as there's no card machine.

This particular HeimWerk branch in the Glockenbachviertel neighbourhood spoils guests over two floors with tasteful ambiance and delicious culinary creations. Retro flair, modern touches and light flooding through the many windows helps to create a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a seasonal menu which also includes a selection of fine wines, cocktails, and mixed drinks.

Modern coffee house in a grand 19th Century building specialising in handmade cakes and gourmet chocolates. This classy cake factory was featured five years consecutively in the Michelin Guide and has won numerous other awards for innovative craftsmanship. It seems a shame to eat such intricate pieces of art but the shame subsides pretty quickly when the taste comes through.

In the open coffee roasting room belonging to VogelMaier Kaffeerösterei, visitors can witness the inner workings of the coffee roasting procedure which are on display for everyone to see. You can be assured that your cup has come straight from the plantation to the mug as the owners, Stefan and Cristiane visit the countries of origin regularly, making sure their coffee beans are top-notch.

In this cozy establishment, young and old can meet for lunch, coffee and cake or even for a refreshing cocktail with live music in the evening. Most of the furniture in Cafe Jasmin has been restored periodically since the 1950s when it was procured brand new. The classic, Gatsby like atmosphere here is offset by the interesting menu which includes a soy and quinoa pudding as well as acai, which is hard to come by in Europe.
