Airport
The airport is located five kilometres from the city centre.
Taxis are available from the departure end of the building by phoning 131 008. The taxi fare to the city is around $13.00. There is also an airport shuttle bus which costs $8 single fare and $14 return.
Public transport
The electric Tilt trains connect with Brisbane, an eight and half hour journey, diesel Tilt services go to Cairns.
Sunbus (tel: (+61 7 4725 8482), the local bus service, runs regular routes around the city and to the outlying suburbs.
Magnetic Island is serviced by two ferry companies – Sunferries (www.sunferries.com.au, tel: (+61 7 4772 7711) runs a regular service to the island and daily tours to the Great Barrier Reef. The Magnetic Island Passenger and Car Ferry run regular services to Magnetic Island.
