Airports
Pau Airport (Aéroport Pau Pyrénées) is located seven kilometres north of the town centre and about an hour’s drive from the Pyrenees’ ski stations and sand beaches of France’s south-west coastline.
IDELIS shuttle bus runs from Pau-Pyrenees Airport to Pau town centre and Pau train station. Departures from Pau-Pyrenees Airport every hour from 7:40 am to 7:40 pm. From train station the bus leaves approximately every hour from 6:33 am to 7:50 pm. You can buy tickets directly from the bus driver. The journey time from Pau-Pyrenees Airport to Pau train station is about 30 minutes. However please notice the IDELIS shuttle bus does not run on Sundays or on French public holidays, it is advice to book a taxi. Public transport
Pau town centre is compact enough for you to be able to cover all the areas of interest by foot. Alternatively, the STAP bus service is a cheap and reliable option (www.contact@bus-stap.com). A single ticket, usable for an hour after validation on the whole network, costs about € 1. A day ticket, allowing unlimited travel on the network is about € 2,50, or a booklet of 8 tickets is about € 5,50. Bicycles can be rented from Vélo Station, 9 boulevard Alsace Lorraine, tel: +33 5 59 02 27 54. Cars can be rented both at the airport and in town.
