Innsbruck - The City

If you pick one of the winter months you may be treated to sporting professionals speeding down the bobsleigh run, or flying off the daunting new Bergisel ski jump. In summer, you’ll be reminded of these events by the spectacular mountain backdrop, but can enjoy the scenery in the warm Austrian sunshine.

Though public transport is reliable and efficient, you can make the most of Innsbruck’s pretty streets by walking, since distances are almost invariably manageable. Trip along the cobbles in the old part of town looking for a pair of lederhosen, or seek out a trendy bar in the newer areas.
