Sacred Mayan Journey
May 23th to 25h, of 2013. Re-creation of the crossing made by the Mayans from Pole (Xcaret) to Cutzamil (Cozumel) to honor the goddess Ixchel, jointly organized by Xcaret and the municipalities of Solidaridad and Cozumel.
Triathlon Xel-Ha
November of 2013. Each year, the beauty of a majestic natural inlet in the Caribbean Sea is the backdrop for the Xel-Ha Triathlon. This sport is becoming very popular and the amount of triatletes in the country has shown tremendous growth in recent years. The competition takes place during the month of November at the park Xel-Ha and includes categories for all ages.
Winterbeach
December 2013, Winterbeach is an event that brings music, fashion and entertainment to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one. National and International talent get together at Mamita’s Beach Club for an ongoing series of events including concerts, catwalks from recognized Latin designers, DJ's and other parties to receive the year 2013.
Taste of Playa
November 24th, of 2013. Taste of Playa is a community based culinary festival set in the heart of the Riviera Maya. With inspiration drawn from the dreams of several local business owners, this event was conceived in 2009 as a way to celebrate the extraordinary talents of chefs and restaurateurs who have chosen Playa del Carmen as their home and establish the Riviera Maya as a world class culinary destination.
Riviera Maya Jazz Festival
November 28th to 30th, 2013. Jazz music festival celebrates 11th anniversary with top national and international artists at Playa Mamitas, organized by the Riviera Maya Destination Marketing Office.
Cancun - Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival
March 14th to 17th of 2013, Food and wine lovers from all over the world, get ready for our second annual Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival. Under the theme "Europe meets the Americas”, we will celebrate ITALY and its most admired Chef, Massimo Bottura, praised around the world for his avant-garde cuisine. A total of 25 star chefs from around the globe and world class sommeliers will meet in Riviera Maya for 25 unforgettable culinary experiences.
Riviera Maya Film Festival
April 21st to 27th, of 2013, Riviera Maya is again the main venue for the second edition of the Riviera Maya Film Festival, an event that in its first edition achieved to unite the greatness of Quintana Roo, its people, its natural beauty and its ancient culture with the universal contemporary art: Movies. During the six days of the festival, a variety of Mexican and foreign films will be broadcasted in natural settings both in Playa del Carmen and in Tulum.
Turtle Festival
October 2013. It was founded in 2003 to raise awareness among residents of Tulum on the importance of conserving sea turtles. Many different activities for children, teenagers and adults invite the community to participate actively within the celebration of this festival.
PGA Mayakoba Golf Classic
November 11th to 17th of 2013, The OHL Classic at Mayakoba made golf history when the tournament was first conducted in 2007, becoming Mexico’s Only PGA TOUR Event. The OHL Classic at Mayakoba will move to November as the event joins the new fall portion of the PGA TOUR FedexCup schedule. As a result the event now boasts its own unencumbered date, affording any PGA TOUR player, regardless of world ranking, the opportunity to compete. Also the total purse has been increased to $6 million USD guaranteeing the winner a check of over $1 million USD.

Arena Festival
January 31st to February 5th, of 2013, Arena Festival, Mexico’s biggest gay and lesbian dance music festival, celebrates its blow-out second edition in Playa del Carmen on the Riviera Maya with 15 special parties.
BPM Festival
January 4th to 13th, of 2013, The BPM Festival is an annual world-class electronic music festival in Playa Del Carmen, México held at the beginning of the calendar year. Originally conceived as an elite dance music industry-networking event, the festival has morphed into an international mélange of electronic music lovers, DJs, producers, and party professionals.
