Härnösand was founded in 1585 and today you find the Cathedral, the residence of the County Governor and a university in the city. Sollefteå is situated in the heart of Ådalen, in the middle of Ångermanälven, between mountain and sea. Rock carvings at Nämforsen shows that this was a significant place 6,000 years ago.
