Härnösand
Härnösand was founded in 1585 and today you find the Cathedral, the residence of the County Governor and a university in the city. Cultural life is rich with attractions such as the county museum and a military fortress. Events succeed each other with everything from city celebrations and dance festivals to theaters and jazz nights. Nature is right on the town´s doorstep, with nature reserves, great beaches and activities for all ages.
Kramfors
The High Coast Bridge, one of the world’s longest and most elegant suspension bridges, spans Ångermanälven in Kramfors. Here you can find your own treasures: beautiful islands, museums and hiking trails. Events such as music festivals, City Festivals and cruising takes place here. The art lovers can get their needs saturated as the area is rich in artists and craftsmen.
Örnsköldsvik
Örnsköldsvik lies in the northern part of the High Coast and the landscape is varied with coast and cliffs, inland and forest. In Örnsköldsvik’s archipelago you will find twenty major and many smaller islands arranged in the sea. Names like Ulvön and Trysunda are worth remembering. Fishing villages, fermented herring, smoked whitefish, rocks, birds and sailing are some of the things you will experience here in the High Coast.
Sollefteå
Sollefteå is situated in the heart of Ådalen, in the middle of Ångermanälven, between mountain and sea. Rock carvings at Nämforsen shows that this was a significant place 6,000 years ago. Here you will find a large range of events, especially during summer. Enjoy the views of the beautiful nature around Ångermanälven river, with its sandy river banks and surrounding hills, or try your fishing luck in one of the many rivers.
